Through vigorous market research, Homedics marketing team identified an area of opportunity in the opening price point range of handheld massagers. The challenge was to develop series of unique mini massagers that suggested fun, effective, easy to use, yet not coming across as children’s toys. Shape’s designs were so successful and overwhelmingly appreciated by consumers that fulfilling incoming orders required a six-storey factory building with multiple production lines on each floor to crank out up to 30,000 units per day. A total volume of over 40 millions of these handheld devices were made over the course of 5 years and to this date, knockoffs of our designs still appeared around the world, making this the most successful product launch in the history of Homedics.
